Ioanna Filiou studied painting and engraving at the Athens School of Fine Arts (2001-2006), graduating with honors. She works as an Art teacher in Secondary Education.
In addition, she is a graduate of University of Athens, Department of Physics and also, has a Masters Degree in Oceanography.
